Last Thursday, Maya, Payton, and Lindsey did a great job in the spelling bee in the gym for grades 3 through 5. Children asked if they could bring in posters for the Black History Month project which is due Friday. It is also a verbal presentation so they can do that or anything that helps them tell about their person. They can use whatever means they like.
I was off last Friday to watch my granddaughter who got a new sister early Thursday morning! I’m not sure who was at school Friday so I am including the Thursday letter below so everyone will see it.
Next week, beginning Monday, February 12, our class will be doing Scantron testing in reading and math. Please make sure your child is well-rested and has a nutritious breakfast since we might not have snack at the normal time due to the schedule.
On Wednesday, February 14, the class will exchange valentines. If your child wishes to participate they need to bring in a valentine for each child so as not to cause hurt feelings. Ms. Colter will be bringing in a valentine treat for the class during their lunch.
The class has a project for Black History Month which is due no later than Friday, February 16th. Please check your child’s homework pad for instructions.
Since the third quarter has started it would be helpful if you checked your child’s pencil case for supplies. I have quite a few children who do not have scissors, glue sticks, crayons, red marking pen and pencils. They really need these to do their classroom work. It would also be greatly appreciated if you send in paper towels as I am down to the last roll.
Please keep your child home if they have a fever; last week I sent 3 children home who got sick during the day.
Thanks for all you do.
