Good Sunday Evening Everyone,

I hope you had a restful weekend.

Our trip to the zoo was a huge success.  The children had a lot of fun seeing the animals and riding on the big bus.  Thank you to all of the parents who were able to come with us.  We really couldn't do it without you!

Thank you Ms. Wright for a wonderful Field Day!  We had so much fun playing all of the games. Thank you for all your hard work and preparation.

Tomorrow is Pizza/Bingo.  We will play Bingo in the Burgundy Room in the morning and then go back over for our last Pizza Lunch.  Thank you to all the volunteers who work at the hot lunches.  You make our school so special.

This Friday we will have Donuts for Dad.  If you can stay and have a doughnut and juice when you drop your child off that would be great.

Tuesday, June 12, 2018 we will have our end of the year celebration at 11:00 am.  The children may dress up.  Please plan on coming.  We will have a short ceremony and then Party!!!  It is a half day that day.

Thank you,

Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

Good Evening Everyone,

Hope you had a nice weekend.  This week we will start to learn about the letter Z.  It's hard to believe that the year is almost over and we are on the last letter of the Alphabet.  We will learn about Zoo animals and get ready for our trip to the Zoo.  You should have received the permission slip for the field trip to the National Zoo.  The forms and payment are due by Friday May 18, 2018.  We are in need of 5 more chaperones.  Let me know if you are interested in coming.  You must be Virtus trained to attend.  Thank you Mr. Leak and Ms. Holmes for offering your time to go to the Zoo.

This Friday we will celebrate Mother's Day by having Muffins for Mom at drop off.  I hope you can stay and have a muffin and juice with your child.

Thank you for all your support,

Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

Happy Monday!

Good afternoon everyone.

We have been very busy in preschool.  Last week we learned the letter X and learned about different sizes.  The children had a good time reenacting the story of The Three Bears and sorting things by size.  We also learned about Earth Day and how to protect and care for the Earth.  We have been learning about plants and even planted our own flowers.  They are growing nicely and should be ready to go home soon.

This week we will start learning the letter Y as well as continue to review what we have learned so far.  The year is going by so quickly.  It's hard to believe that May starts tomorrow.

We are planning a field trip to the National Zoo on May 29, 2018.  Permission slips will go home in the Thursday folder.

Thank you so much for your continued support,

Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

Happy Spring!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

It looks like Spring may finally be here.  I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break.

We have had a great week.  On Monday we enjoyed a Native American dancer and musician.

This week we started learning about the letter V.  We talked about eating healthy and sampled Vegetables and painted with Vegetables.  Thank you to Ms. Grier our school nurse.  She came and talked to us about healthy eating and taking care of our teeth.  We also are in the process of making Volcanoes out of salt dough.

Happy Easter to everyone,

I hope you have a beautiful day.  We had an amazing week in pre-school last week.  The children loved our in-school field trip.  Eric Energy taught them a-lot about science.  They couldn't wait to see what he would do next.  We learned so much about Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus.  The class did a wonderful job explaining about the "Real" Easter Bunny at prayer service.  Our Easter Egg hunt and celebration was a success.  Thank you for all the Birthday wishes.  I had a great day.  A special thank you to Olivia's Abuela for the delicious cupcakes and cake.  We appreciate you!

Have a great Easter vacation and we will see you on April 9th.

Love,

Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

I hope you all are having a great weekend.  Last week we had fun learning about St. Patrick and the Holy Trinity.  We watched a story about St. Patrick and how he taught the people of Ireland about Christianity.  The children learned that the Shamrock represents the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  We also celebrated St. Patrick's Day by wearing green and enjoying green cake.  The children were surprised to learn that when I made the cake it was white, but when I served it to them the Leprechauns had turned it green.  They also turned our milk green.  How did that happen?

This week we will begin our unit on Community Helpers.  We will discover what community helpers are and learn who is a community helper in our school.  If any one would like to come in and talk to the children about how they are a community helper please let me know.  The children love to have visitors.

We will continue to learn about Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus.

Have a Great Sunday,

Ms. Baker

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

We had a great day today celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday.  We all helped make green eggs and ham and we had a green and spoon race.  About half of the children liked the green eggs but they all enjoyed helping to cook.  We have some little chefs in pre-school.

I'm having trouble posting pictures.  As soon as I solve the problem I will post them.

This week we will begin the letter T and our Transportation theme.  We will continue to prepare for Easter throughout the month.

Have a great week,

Ms. Baker

Hello Sunshine!

Good Afternoon,

It is hard to believe that February is almost over.  This week we will finish up learning about African-American inventors.  We learned about Garrett Morgan, George T. Sampson and George Crum.  I think the children's favorite was George Crum, the inventor of the potato chip.  One of my favorites too.

This week we are also learning about the letter S and spiders.  The children enjoyed making Spider Sandwiches.  Friday is Dr. Seuss' Birthday.  We will begin reading Dr. Seuss books and celebrate his birthday with Green Eggs and Ham on Friday.  We will carry the Dr. Seuss theme over through next week because there are so many great books to read and celebrate.

Happy President's Day!

I hope you have enjoyed this nice long weekend.  We had a very busy week last week.  We celebrated Mardi Gras with a delicious pancake lunch.  On Wednesday we went to church for Ash Wednesday.  We will continue to learn about Lent and the story of Easter for the next few weeks.  This week we will also begin the letter Rr and continue to learn about African American inventors.  We learned about Garrett Morgan who invented the stop light and this week we will learn about George Sampson, the inventor of the clothes dryer.

Have a good rest of your day,

Ms. Baker

Multicultural Week!

I would like to thank Ms. Campos for making multicultural week in Pre-K 3 such a huge success!  Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.  She turned our room into a little El Salvador.

Happy Catholic School's Week and Multicultural Week.  I am so blessed to be able to be a part of such a great school.  This week we are celebrating Catholic School's Week and Multicultural Week.  I have been talking to the children about how lucky they are that their parents have chosen this school and how lucky I am to be able to be their teacher.

Today Ms. Campos showed us how to make homemade tortillas.  Some liked them plain and some like them with black beans and queso.  Delicious.  Thank you Ms. Campos.

What's Up in Pre-K 3

Good evening everyone,

We have been busy in Pre-K getting back into the school routine.  The children are doing a great job.  We hosted our first prayer service last week and the children were awesome.  After a three day weekend they all sang their hearts out and did their best.  I am so proud of them!  We have also attended mass the past two Fridays.  Their behavior in church was excellent.

This week we will begin learning about the letter O.  We continue reviewing what we have learned so far this year.  I am working on recognizing the letters in their name and numbers 1-10.  We have been talking about how important it is to listen to God and to Obey God.  Last week we learned the story of Noah and the Ark.  This week we are going to learn about Jonah and the Whale.

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Ms. Baker

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Pre-School!!!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is enjoying Christmas vacation.  I want to thank everyone for making our Gingerbread House Making Party a success.  The children had a lot of fun making their house and sampling the treats.  Thank you so much to Santa for coming and visiting our class.  You made our day!

Enjoy the rest of your break and be safe.  See you next Tuesday.

Love,

Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

Waiting For Jesus!

It is hard to believe that we are into the first week of Advent.  For the next two weeks we will be learning about Advent and the Christmas Story.  Christmas is a very exciting time for our children and we like them to learn that "Jesus is the reason for the season."

Five Senses Fun!

Last week we had a great time learning about the Five Senses.  We did a lot of activities with Mr. Potato Head.  Mr. Potato Head is a great and fun way to learn about the Five Senses.  We did sorting activities, taste testing, listening and guessing what the sound is and painting blind folded.  We also used our sense of touch to guess what we were feeling.  Take a look.
